Toshiba doesnt make particularly pretty laptops, but theyre not ugly either; theyre just meh. So Toshiba has been surprisingly modest, slipstreaming a fresh Chromebook 2 into its lineup without calling it the Chromebook 2.5 or 2B or even touting its two enhancements-a new Intel “Broadwell” rather than “Bay Trail” processor and a backlit keyboard.
Clad in a grayish hue the business calls Ice Silver, its plastic construction is no match for the aluminum Google Pixel or carbon fiber and magnesium alloy Dell 13, but its textured surface provides nice grip and its own matte keyboard deck with black, chiclet-style keys and rounded touch pad corners is of interest. (Thats, not waterproof, but made to drain off a splash.) Since we werent ready to slosh a perfectly good sit down elsewhere on the laptops keyboard, well have to take Toshibas word for this.
